Brendan has been sharing his passion and teaching as an arts educator since the age of 16, when he began leading puppet workshops at local drama festivals. Since then, he has taught puppetry and puppet building to thousands of students across Western Canada. He continues to teach to this day, and works closely with a number of local community groups that offer accessible arts programming to students of all ages.
Brendan believes that arts education serves a higher purpose: to engage participants in a meaningful way and build appreciation for the craft, but also to inspire the confidence in participants to bring creativity and play into their daily lives. No one is going to become a master puppeteer in a single one-hour session, but they might leave with the confidence to try something new or see the world in a different way. For Brendan, that's the true magic of arts education and the lesson at the heart of each of his classes. From crafts for kids to adult team building workshops, Brendan is an expert of tailoring custom activities for any class, age or curriculum .
